English Exit Exam (EEE)

Ministerial Examination of College English

The next English Exit Exam will be Wednesday, August 10, 2022

All students in English CEGEPs must take the examination before graduating and must pass the examination to obtain a Diploma of College Studies (DCS).

Students must have passed 2 of the 3 courses (603101, 603102, 603103) and be in the process of completing the third (603102 or 603103) when they register for the examination. Students register for the exam at the college they attend.

The examination takes place 3 times a year. The next examinations will be held on the following dates:

    • May 18, 2022
    • August 10, 2022
    • December 14, 2022
    • May 17, 2023
    • August 9, 2023
    • December 13, 2023

For any other situation, you must make a personal request to the Registrar’s Office and attach any supporting documents as necessary.


Where does the EEE take place?

For December and May exams: the exam takes place at l’École nationale d’aérotechnique (ENA , at the St. Hubert campus).

For the August exam : the exam will take place at the Longueuil campus.




Can I take the EEE at another college?

Yes, for exceptional circumstances. However, as the EEE is part of the academic calendar, finishing courses early in order to leave the educational institution is not considered an exceptional circumstance.

If you wish to take the exam in another college, you must submit your request to the
Registrar’s Office and attach any necessary supporting documents.


  Am I entitled to special considerations?

You could be eligible for special considerations if you have one of the following situations :

  • Students with disabilities: for more information or to make a request, you must contact the Centre des services adaptés.
  • Allophone secondary-school graduates from outside Québec: persons who entered the Québec college system through equivalency measures or who do not have a secondary school diploma issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MEES) and whose language of instruction in secondary school was neither English nor French, to make a request, you must contact the Registrar’s Office:
    • You could be eligible for an additional 60 minutes to take the exam.
    • For the December and May exams : the exam takes place on the premises of the St. Hubert campus (ÉNA – École nationale d’aérotechnique)
    • For the August exam: the exam takes place at the Longueuil campus.
  • Indigenous: a student is considered to be Indigenous if his or her mother tongue is an Indigenous language, and if the student completed part of his or her elementary school education in this language.

Am I entitled to a priority correction?

For the December exam :

YES, if you are in one of the following situations:

  • You have applied or you are going to apply to university for the winter season;
  • You are likely to obtain your DEC in the current session in one of the following programs :
    • Dental Hygiene (111.A0)
    • Optical Dispensing (160.A0 and 160.AU)
    • Nursing (180.A0)

For the May exam:

YES, if you are likely to obtain your DEC in the current session in one of the following programs:

  • Dental Technology (110.A0)
  • Denturology (110.B0)
  • Dental Hygiene (111.A0)
  • Radiation Oncology (142.A0)
  • Optical Dispensing (160.A0 and 160.AU)
  • Nursing (180.A0)

For the August exam :

  1. There is no priority correction for this exam. If you have applied to a university for the fall semester, the university will be aware of the deadlines for receiving results.

If you are eligible for a priority correction, your group number will begin with URGENT.

If you have applied or will apply to a university for the winter semester, or for any other situation where you think you are eligible for a priority correction, you must submit your request to the Registrar’s Office and attach any supporting documents as necessary.



How will I know that I am registered ?

You will receive an electronic version of the letter which will be deposited in Documents et messages intended for you on Omnivox.

This letter also contains all the necessary information for the day of the exam. It is very important that you familiarize yourself with the information before the day of the exam.

If you have not received your confirmation and you wish to take the exam, contact the Registrar’s Office so that they can register you.



How and when will I receive my results?

You will be able to have access to your results electronically. Your grade-report will be posted on your college studies transcript that you will find on the portal by clicking “Results—College Studies Transcript”

You will also receive by mail a statement of results issued by the Ministry.



How many times can I retake the EEE?

You have the right to take the EEE as long as you have not passed it.



I failed the EEE and I want to request a review of the results : How do I do this ?

You must make your request directly on the website of the ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur.



I would like to have a corrected copy of my exam : how can I receive this?

You must make your request directly on the website of the ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur.
